Job Description: Health and Wellness Athletic Trainer
Position Overview:
The Health and Wellness Athletic Trainer will be responsible for providing comprehensive athletic training services to athletes, focusing on promoting their overall health and well-being. This role requires exceptional knowledge of sports medicine, injury prevention, and rehabilitation techniques. The Health and Wellness Athletic Trainer will collaborate closely with coaches, sports medicine professionals, and athletes to ensure optimal performance and recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement effective injury prevention programs to minimize the risk of sports-related injuries.
2. Conduct thorough assessments of athletes' physical conditions, including evaluating their flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular fitness.
3. Provide immediate and appropriate care in the event of sports-related injuries, including first aid, emergency medical treatment, and referral to appropriate specialists.
4. Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation programs for injured athletes to facilitate their safe return to competition.
5. Collaborate with sports medicine professionals to develop and oversee comprehensive injury management plans for athletes.
6. Educate athletes, coaches, and support staff on proper nutrition, hydration, and lifestyle choices to optimize performance and overall well-being.
7. Conduct regular fitness and conditioning sessions to enhance athletes' physical fitness and performance.
8. Maintain accurate documentation of injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress for each athlete.
9. Stay up-to-date with the latest research, trends, and best practices in athletic training and sports medicine.
10. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards of practice.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Science, or a related field.
2. Certification as an Athletic Trainer from the Board of Certification (BOC).
3. Current state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure as an Athletic Trainer.
4. Minimum of [X] years of experience as an Athletic Trainer, preferably in a sports and athletics setting.
5. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and biomechanics.
